Be True To Yourself and Find Peace

Make your own decisions about what’s most important to you. We live in a world that constantly tells us what to do, how to act, what to be. Knowing how to be true to yourself and live the life you want can be a challenge. It’s so easy to allow society dictate our choices. Showing what beautiful is or what having money looks like and even feels like.

Then you start to look around at what you have, and you begin to feel like you don’t measure up to what society has placed on us. It used to drive me insane when people would say, “You have the same amount of hours in the day as Beyonce”. My response to that would be, yes, however, Beyonce has an entire team behind her to help her be productive with those hours.

There are facts in life, and one of those facts is, no one can feel positive all the time and this fact is something that we should accept. When you acknowledge a feeling, it leads you to the problem that’s causing that feeling; and once you identify the problem, you can find a solution to it. When you hide that feeling, you stuff it way down so no one can help you. You can’t even help yourself.

Understand Your Feelings – Be True To Yourself

Feelings are there for one reason: to be felt. That doesn’t mean you have to act on that feeling. It just means that you start the process of problem solving so you can live the life you want to live. Being true to yourself entails embracing all aspects of who you are and the life you created.

  1. Accept Your Vulnerability: It’s okay to need things, it’s okay to speak up, and it’s okay not to be okay.

  2. Choose How You Handle Adversity: You can take control of your destiny and live the life you want by staying true to yourself. You can start anytime. You can start today.

  3. Do What Makes You Happy When No One is Watching: Being the best version of you has nothing to do with your success or your status. It has everything to do with your Character, what you do when no one’s looking.

I had a moment in my life where I felt like I was letting everything someone had to say affect me in a negative way so I had to learn to let go and truly not give a f**K. I acknowledge the way I was feeling and started to action on how to get pass this moment in my life. I started researching different books and found this book called The Art Of Not Giving A F**K. I’m so glad I read this book it honestly changed my thought process on so many things. I wanted to share it with you in hopes it will give you a new outlook the adversities that may come your way.
